Trauma Informed Psychodrama Practices

Overview

Healing in Action explores a trauma-informed approach to using psychodrama methods in both group and individual settings. This training focuses on how to develop spontaneity and expand choices for clients, especially when working with difficult feelings or recurring patterns of behaviour, through psychodrama techniques. At the same time, it emphasises reducing the risk of re-traumatisation through adding intentional layers of safety, structure, and emotional support – to offer a creative, gentler and more effective healing process.

Healing in Action is open to all adults.

The program is best suited for therapists, counsellors, educators, social artists, community workers, coaches, group facilitators and all those who are interested in exploring how embodying roles in a safe and secure group space can create healing and change.

Psychodrama is a group process that was created and developed by JL Moreno and Zerka Moreno, which uses embodiment and a play of roles to explore real-life problems and personal challenges. It helps participants to creatively step into different roles which can bring insight, emotional release and healing. It is a shared, interactive process—which uses the power of relationship, connection, and group energy to help people express and transform their experiences.
