Reclaiming your Erotic Sovereignty
Overview
Tṛ́ṣṇā is a transformative module designed to awaken the fullness and expansiveness of Eros, and to re-ignite the flow of energy, sensitivity, and aliveness in your inner world.
At the heart of Trsna is the desire body — the intuitive, sensual self that longs to be felt, heard, and honoured. Trsna is a journey toward erotic sovereignty — one that nurtures discernment, compassion, and pleasure, while stepping away from patriarchal binaries of either/or and into the fluidity of the feminine “yes, and.”
Through Authentic Movement, we will build our connection to the inner layers of our knowing, feelings, sensations, memories and images. We will learn to connect with our desires viscerally and without shame or judgment. We will also use Natural Dreamwork processes to gently guide unconscious material into our waking awareness, opening a pathway to deeper knowing and embodied presence.
Tṛ́ṣṇā is open to all adults who are deeply interested in working with the body.
Authentic Movement is a simple but profound movement discipline in which the mover moves with her/his eyes closed in front of a witness. The mover is not ‘performing’ for the witness but instead waits to see what the body suggests, thus experiencing the sense of ‘being moved’ as opposed to ‘moving.’ As the mover moves, she also tracks her movement, refining her own inner witness, accentuated by the external witness who tracks the mover and offers her own responses to the movement. This facilitates a journey into the inner world of the psyche. The Authentic Movement practice brings alive the transformation/healing possible with compassionate witnessing. It creates a safe and sacred space within which we can encounter both our wounding and our potential. This embodied encounter with more than one way of being results in a far more expansive sense of Self. We begin to access that part of ourselves that is greater than our wounding, the Self with a capital S as defined by Jung.
Natural Dreamwork is a contemplative, experiential approach to dreamwork that emphasizes the felt experience of dreams rather than their symbolic interpretation. Rooted in the idea that dreams offer pathways to healing and direct emotional/spiritual guidance, Natural Dreamwork invites dreamers to slow down and connect with the dream’s imagery, mood, and presence on a deeply personal level.

Faculty
Brinda Jacob-Janvrin is a movement-based expressive arts therapist and a performer with more than 30 years of performance experience. A qualified counsellor, she has been working extensively with movement and arts therapies since 2003. A practitioner and facilitator for Authentic Movement and Natural Dreamwork, Brinda is passionate about the arts, the mysterious workings of the Psyche-Soma and connections between the Body and the Earth.
Brinda is deeply interested in working with the Unholy Trinity (as described by C. Jung) of the Body, the Shadow and the Feminine as portals into the deeper Self. Her work with the feminine and the body has led to the firm belief that reclaiming and having agency around our desire is not only an antidote to the voices and violence of patriarchy, but also a path towards true empowerment. This in turn has led to the creation of the Desire project in 2017.
