Sexual Harassment at Workplace Policy
Workplace Policy
SMART strives to maintain a safe environment and does not tolerate unlawful harassment or any mistreatment by or of employees, guests, participants, interns, trainers or consultants in the workplace or in a work-related situation on the basis of gender, caste, nationality, ethnic or national origin, citizenship, religion, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, marital status etc.
- Please recognise the value and dignity of individuals with due regard to issues of origin, status, gender, age, beliefs, sexual orientation or disability
- Communication, both verbal and non-verbal, with all individuals needs to be sensitive, gender and disability sensitive, age appropriate and in no manner intimidating, offensive, humiliating or degrading to the self-respect and dignity of the person
- Touch is an essential part of human development and interaction. Please respect the personal boundaries and preferences of individuals with respect to touch
- Permission should be sought before physical contact is made. Ensure physical contact is appropriate to their age, stage of development, disability, gender etc. Such contact shall be respectful and not be of a nature that the individual experiences as uncomfortable, threatening, probing, or sexual
- Be mindful of taking consent before taking and/or uploading online any photos, videos taken of individuals, programs etc
- Please watch out for, intervene and report (in an appropriate manner) any instance of violation of code of conduct by other individuals
- Strictly adhere to all applicable laws including the POSH and POCSO Acts
If you suspect harassment, discrimination, or retaliation has occurred, you are encouraged and required, to promptly provide a written or oral complaint to one of the members of the Internal committee as listed below
