So moved and honoured to have spent the last 2 days witnessing the personal journeys of the 2015-16 batch of FECAT trainees over the last year. In a world that is rapidly turning upside down, I feel grateful for this deeply moving and affirming experience. It takes a special kind of strength and grace to be able to shift our gaze from the enemy out there to the enemy within. And to be able to do so with compassion and humility, and to witness this enemy transforming into a teacher, over and over again, gives me hope in these very bleak times.
Gratitude also to the other trainers, therapists, supervisors and colleagues, who with their tireless commitment to their own process, have helped create and hold this space with compassion, honesty and clarity.
Now to begin comprehending the growing horror unleashed by the divisive politics that seem to be a sign of our times…
