The Desire Retreat includes an utterly intimate, sensual, and restorative practice that is designed to awaken the fullness and expansiveness of the Eros and re-ignite the flow of energy and sensitivity in our inner world.
Participants will spend time moving in nature and open themselves to the deep connections between the Body, our immediate home and the Earth – our larger home, to experience an enhanced sense of aliveness and connectedness to the world around us, while remaining grounded strongly in Body and Earth, to which we belong.
As always, Authentic Movement practices are an integral part of this exploration, and along with our moving body, participants will also get an opportunity to explore their dreaming body. The evenings will be spent grounding personal experience with an exploration of some theories around Desire and Authentic Movement.
This workshop is a powerful antidote to all the madness that surrounds us. We live in a world that privileges Logos over Eros, Power over Love, and Mind over Body, creating a polarised and divided condition within our psyche, which is reflected in the world around us. Learning to engage with and honour our desire allows us to break this vicious patriarchal condition of ‘either/or’ and move towards the more inclusive and feminine approach of ‘yes, and’.
The workshop will be facilitated by Brinda Jacob-Janvrin.
Logistics
Participants arrive at the venue by 9 am on day 1. There are 2 types of staying facilities – twin-sharing and single rooms. Refreshments and home-cooked meals (veg and non-veg) will be served. The retreat will close at 5 pm on day 4.
Residency
The retreat is planned as a residency. The active workshop will be from 10 am to 5 pm each day, with the evenings reserved for subtle engagement with the arts, video viewing, circle discussions and nature activities. Even if the participant is a resident of Bangalore/Kengeri/Good Earth, they are required to stay on the premises. This opportunity also allows for a deeper engagement with the process while being disconnected from everyday living.
